How to wear Black Pumps 4 Ways

About Black Pumps

Black pumps are arguably the most classic shoe every woman should own by the time they can walk in heels. Black pumps are the most timeless shoe you can wear on repeat. Wear them with ripped jeans for a chic, street look or with dress pants for work! Even the royals swear by black pumps. Read about it here. Below are 4 very different outfits I like to wear black pumps with.

Dress Up

Embrace your classic, girly style by pairing pumps with a dress! This is a more casual dress, but I also wear them with my formal BCBG dresses.

I feel so classy yet comfortable in this casual shift dress from White House|Black Market.

I chose to invest in a pair of Calvin Klein Canvas Black Pumps. The patent leather was too dressy and regular leather black pumps make me look like an old banker.

It’s important to choose an appropriate heel height for your age and occasion. If you’re willing to buy more than one pair of black heels pick a higher heel to wear with dresses!

Wear to Work

These Calvin Klein Pumps are perfect for work. The heel height is moderate and the canvas finish is professional yet modern!

Black pumps go incredibly well with leggings as you can see here! It’s a great way to dress them up and be comfortable. However, please do not wear gym leggings with black pumps. Buy a nice pair like these that mimic dress pants.

Are you on your feet a lot at work in need of a shoe with comfort and support? Yeah, don’t we all, but it’s hard to find something that’s stylish, sleek, and attractive. I have put together a list below of super comfortable black pumps perfect to wear all day!

Soft Madina Block Heel                            Ecco Shape                Naturalizer Gianna Two Piece

Casually Chic in the Streets

No, I am not posing for a Calvin Klein commercial, but that would be awesome!

I like, no love, to wear heels with jeans! Black pumps go incredibly well with jeans because both are classics.

So kick back, put on your black pumps and hit the streets in this effortlessly chic look! But wait! Where do you go to get jeans? Most girls despise jean shopping, and I am one of them. When I find a pair that fits, I clear the store of them…almost.

American Eagle Jeans fit me every time! I do not recommend American Eagle for anything else, unless you’re a tween. Their jeans have great stretch and fit. I know a lot of women like jeans by Tommy Hilfiger, Express, Madewell, and True Religion.

Skinny jeans are considered a classic now, so investing in a pair is a must! A truly good pair of jeans will make you feel better, and it’s expected you’ll pay over $100 for them. It’s OK! Here’s a guide on the best jeans for your body type . Please let me know what your go to brand for jeans is, so I can learn more about them.

Summer Strut

You can wear black pumps with shorts if you choose a dressier pair that are tailored and professional. Jean shorts tend to be very short. That look is trashy, not classy.

I like mine from Express. I have them in blush pink (above) and black. They are similar to dress pants. Try to stay away from Bermuda shorts which tend to chop off your legs and squeeze them like sausages! Sorry, it’s the truth.

To wrap things up here’s where I suggest to shop for classic, black pumps. If you’re based in Toledo, Dillard’s has the best shoe department around.  However my favorite shoe brands are… Antonio Melani, Chinese Laundry, Gianni Bini, Vince Camuto.

B.E. Style Pump Challenge

If you do not already own a pair, begin your hunt! Then once you have a pair of classic black pumps wear them one of the four ways I suggested above that you haven’t tried before. Let me know if you complete the challenge and share your results on Facebook and Instagram by tagging me! Let’s work together to inspire other women to take a strong stance in heels!
